Message from the Department Head

Our IAPD Advisory Board will be here on Thursday evening and Friday of this week, please take every opportunity to interact with and welcome them!

News and Events

The Night of Wonder truly was! As you can see from the photos above, the experiential exhibit designed under the direction of Vibha Jani during an Exhibit Design course Spring semester, was constructed and installed over the past few weeks for the Beach Museum gala. In addition to those students in the class, Professor Jani extends a heartfelt thank you to all of those who helped in the installation: "I was very touched by the assistance the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year students provided to our exhibition students. It was great to see Neal Hubbell, Dustin Headley, Richard Thompson and Shaun Troyer assisting our students. This was truly a collaborative project and I am so very proud of our students. Kevin O'Connor, Katie Ortbals and Laura Stockdell put countless long hours and completed the work on time, with dedication and excellence. Evan Gray, David Backs and Amanda Barker each played an important role in the installation, without their assistance, it would have been difficult to finish!"

The Exhibit Design course worked with the Friends of the Beach Museum board and it's entertainment committee throughout the Spring semester; the Friends of the Beach Museum provided funding for the exhibit materials as well.

Katrina Lewis attended the Public Interest Design Institute in Kansas City, MO on Wednesday, Sept. 18th and Thursday, Sept. 19th. The SEED process (see the website of interest to the right) takes a holistic, creative approach to design driven by community needs.
