Message from the Department Head
We have an exciting week ahead beginning with an opportunity to mingle, meet, and welcome incoming IAPD students who are incoming to 2nd year on Tuesday evening in the McGraw Room. I hope IAPD faculty and students will make every effort to attend.
Wednesday, we host our Distinguished Lecturer Sally Augustin. Creating positive environments is a subject on many of our minds, and we are eager to engage with Dr. Augustin. Wednesday evening, following Dr. Augustin's presentation, please plan to migrate over to the Pierce Commons in Seaton Hall for a screening of short films created by 5th year students as a part of Katrina Lewis' Contemporary Issues course. Refreshments will be provided, be prepared for humor, challenge, education, and enjoyment.
Thursday we have the rare opportunity to see four well-respected firms make presentations as they are finalists to design the Revitalization of Seaton hall. This open process has been championed by our Dean as a learning experience for our students and I hope you attend as many as possible.
Friday evening, travel to Kansas City for 1st Friday and the 5th year Furniture Show, once again located at DeadLeaf Furniture; and then Saturday is our Open House event here in Seaton Hall. Rest up on Sunday in preparation for the DesignExpo on Monday where representatives from 50 firms will be present.
I'll look forward to seeing you at each of these events!
