Message from the Department Head
I thank you all for a successful year! The contributions of faculty, staff and students toward the betterment of our program and profession is one of the aspects that make this such a special place to learn.
Please join me in congratulating the 2014 Interior Architecture & Product Design graduates! The photo in the header above was taken last night at our traditional 5th Year Appreciation Picnic. The 5th year project posters provide a synopsis of their individual projects and are on display along the walls near the IAPD office; I encourage you to check them out!
We continue to receive notifications of internship and full-time positions available; keep checking the website for these.
News and Events
Students are to be completely moved out of studio spaces by noon on Monday, May 19. Each student must clean their area of trash and dispose of those items they no longer need or want. All personal items should be removed so the area is the same as when the semester began. Please be respectful of those coming after you and assist us in cleaning. Professors, please make sure your students have accomplished this for your studio spaces.
Summer Exhibition and Symposium
If you plan to be in Grand Rapids this summer, be sure to visit the "Design that Shaped America" exhibition.
Associate Professor Vibhavari Janis's paper has been selected to be presented at EDULEARN conference being held in Barcelona on 7-9 July, 2014.
If you are planning to be in Manhattan over the Summer and are looking for a part-time position, apply to work for APDesign. There are a number of projects that occur each summer in studios and elsewhere that require students working to accomplish. Hours may vary up to 40 hours per week. If interested, contact Kathy Ankerson at firstname.lastname@example.org and attach a resume along with an expression of your interest.
