DEPARTMENT HEAD NOTES
Hope you are enjoying Labor Day Weekend! Many events occurring over the next two weeks, keep your eye on the newsletters and emails. Congrats to the IAPD Student Council officers, we look forward to learning who is elected as representatives from each of the studios.
Groundbreaking was a success, and we are "officially" on track for the construction process to begin!
If you haven't signed up for a committee to serve on at the college level, representing all IAPD students, please do so asap. Find the full list here and email Kathy with your interest.

IIDA
Hello IAPD Students:
If you are interested in IIDA, we invite you to attend our kick off meeting on September 8th, at 7pm in Justin hall room 164. 

There will be representatives from Mid- America chapter there to explain the benefits of joining IIDA, membership enrollment process and upcoming events. While being a registered member of IIDA is recommended, you do not have to be to participate in this meeting.

Please keep your eye on your email or in the newsletter about upcoming events, like Design Wars and Color and Couture. 
Also, if you have not already given me your email please reply to 
mcdennis@ksu.edu, with your name in the subject line so that I can add it to our IIDA list serve.

DISNEY INTERNSHIP Q & A
Current 4th year IAPD Student Kendall Harvey has graciously agreed to offer a brief synopsis of his Disney Internship this past summer, and to have a question & answer session following. Come to APD West on Monday evening 09.14 at 6:30 (right before SPARK!).
INSURANCE CARDS
We need to have an insurance card on file for all IAPD students.  Due to the nature of our program, the tools used for your projects, and the field trips we take, insurance cards are required.  Please bring yours in to the office in Seaton 251 so we can put a copy in you file.  Let's get this done in the next week or so.
 SPARK PLUG - TUESDAY THIS WEEK
Due to the holiday weekend, SPARK! will occur on Tuesday evening this week.

DAYLIGHTING FRONTIERS LECTURE
Lisa Heschong will be giving a lecture on Daylighting Frontiers, September 21st, 5:00-6:00pm.  The lecture will be in the Leadership Building in room 114.  You can read more about her upcoming lecture here.
IIDA 3rd ANNUAL DESIGN WARS
If you are interested in competing in the 3rd annual IIDA Design Wars find yourself a team of 3 and register now. The event is FREE and open to 2nd-5th years.  You must register by 9/14/15. $2000 Cash prize for the winning team.
