SPARK PLUG
This semester buzzed right by! Come join us tonight for the final Spark of the semester. We'll be doing our giveaways (you must be present to win!), talking briefly about some quick and easy PDF tricks, and munching on some [snacks/pizza]. The GTAs are happy to help with any last minute issues you're having, so bring questions! See you all there.
SAFETY WEEK
This week student council is sponsoring safety week.  Check your emails each day for information on a new safety topic.  In honor of Nutrition Day - today -  there will be light refreshments available for all IAPD students at APD West.  Also, on Tuesday student council is sponsoring a Wii fitness night.  Take a break from finals to relax and recharge.  Wii Fit will happen at APD West in the IAPD corner classroom.
APDESIGN BAND
Our very own APDesign Band helped spread cheer to APD West on December 5th.  Aren't they just an adorable and talented bunch!
KUDOS
A special shout-out to Rebecca Keating for being awarded the Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) scholarship!  Only a handful of design students throughout the country are awarded this scholarship so very well done, Rebecca!

Also, a big congrats to Dustin for being awarded the best paper at the 2015 Architecture Science Association in Melbourne, Australia this past week.
5TH YEAR UPDATE
It's that time of year for the heaviest flow of hustle and bustle and the 5th year graduate students are putting their finishing touches on their shop projects.  Wednesday and Friday they will be presenting their S.A.V.E. Veteran farm designs to Gary LaGrange, Sheri LaGrange and the other experienced farmers, Steelcase and Populous.  After presenting, the 5th years will quickly be switching gears to continue working on their Thesis, Professional Practice and Capstone Studio books.  On the plus side, no final tests! Thanks Amanda for the update.
WEIGEL LIBRARY
Weigel Library is still accepting applications for spring assistants.  You  must be able to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons! If you are interested see Maxine.
IAPD STUDENT COUNCIL HOSTING PENNY WAR COMPETITION
IAPD Student Council's  penny war competition between all the disciplines in the college of architecture is running through December 11th!  Students are encouraged to bring in pennies for the Ogden Friendship House of Hope. Any pennies will count as positive points towards their department, while other coins and bills will count as negative points. Money can be placed in the jars sitting at the front desk of APD West.  Let's finish strong!
LOOKING FOR A CHRISTMAS GIFT?
We have lots of great IAPD merchandise that you could give to a friend for Christmas.  Come see us in the office if you need a one of a kind Christmas gift! Let your family and friends know these also make wonderful stocking stuffers!
