PAM LIGHT LECTURE

Pam Light, Senior VP with Hellmuth, Obata, Kassabaum, will be presenting her Ekdahl Lecture entitled "What doors are open to you, and how many do you want to choose!" today at 4 PM in the Union Little Theatre!  Please attend! 

2000 IAPD GRAD PAT PRESLEY VISIT

2000 IAPD grad, Pat Presley, will be giving a presentation at APD West on Tuesday at 3:00 pm.  Pat is currently a Senior Concept Designer for Entertainment Industry working in games, films, TV and theme park design.  Some of his clients include Lucasfilm, Walt Disney Imagineering, Paramount Pictures, and Intel.  Come and listen to his presentation!

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Are you interested in working in Weigel Library this summer? All current student assistants are leaving campus due to graduation; internship; and real-live jobs! So Maxine doesn't have anyone left to help this summer.  Summer hours in Weigel will be Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm, with no weekend hours.  Maxine needs two assistants - one for the mornings and one for the afternoons.  Summer employment will run from Monday, May 16 to Friday, August 19. To be considered for employment, complete an application, available in Weigel, Seaton 323.  Application deadline is Friday, April 29.
FACES OF CIDA VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

CIDA is launching an initiative to collect and display short videos about the value and importance of an accredited interior design education.  It is called "Faces of CIDA" and selected videos will be featured on the CIDA website with the aim to provide an informative, engaging visual resource for prospective students, parents and faculty members.  If selected you will receive a $200 Amazon gift card.  It is open to faculty and students.  For more information or to enter click here.

FOOD DRIVE

Student Council is hosting a food drive for the Flinthills Breadbasket.  It is a competition between all the departments and will run until April 22nd.  Items CAN be placed in boxes located by the front desk at APD West.

VIBHA SELECTED TO GIVE TEDx TALK
Vibha Jani was selected to give a TEDx talk titled "Rethinking Rehabilitation, Health and Healing Environments for Wounded Warriors." It is being hosted at Independence Community College in Independence, KS.
 
Vibha established an innovative partnership with Soldiers Agricultural Vocational Education (SAVE) to assist the wounded soldiers. SAVE is a non-profit organization started by retired Major Gary LaGrange and their mission is to provide agricultural vocational education and healing resources to our returning wounded warriors. Vibha worked with her graduate students to test a new healthcare concept developed by Major LaGrange, that combines Farm Training and Healing center for the soldiers.
