5th year students used team work to help quickly spread adhesive on layers of a large project that needed to be placed in the vacuum form before the glue dried.
KUDOS TO REBECCA KEATING
IAPD Graduate Student Rebecca Keating placed second in the K-State Launch entrepreneurial start up business competition, bringing home a $5,000 cash prize. Launch is an entrepreneurial idea competition for K-State students with new venture ideas. The competition is open to all K-State undergraduate and graduate students or teams from all majors.  Rebecca has been developing a line of customizable women's motorcycle armor utilizing 3D body scanning and 3D additive manufacturing. Her goal is to create a more comfortable and attractive line of protective gear for this growing niche market segment.

Her company, Rekreative Design, is currently submitting a patent application for the process of customizable fabrication, and intends to launch an alpha storefront in Spring, 2017.   Great job, Rebecca!
APD WEST WINTER BREAK SCHEDULE
APDWest will be closed December 18th through December 31st. Please feel free to print the December building schedule.
Also, please clean up your studio area and remove everything from the floors.  We will most likely need to do some re-organizing of desk over the break.  Please throw away any food or leftovers you may have stored out there as well.
LUNCH & LEARN
Thank you to everyone who attended the Lunch & Learn on Nov. 29th with Megan Lovelace from Momentum Group!  We appreciative your drive to learn and taking advantage of great opportunities presented to IAPD.
4TH YEAR STUDIO UPDATE
The 4th years are working night and day to finish their final studio projects for the Steelcase NEXT competition! Chris's studio presentations are Monday the 5th starting at 8am, and Neal's studio presentations are Wednesday the 7th starting at 1:30pm. Two students from each studio will then be selected to submit their project in hopes of becoming a finalist!  They are also working hard to wrap up their shop projects that are due next week, as well as finishing observations for their design research papers that will be due the week of finals. Thanks to Sloan Satterlee for the update!
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
