PIZZA IN THE PIERCE TONIGHT

Enjoy a slice on us! Take time for a study/studio break, and stop by Pierce Commons Monday evening, May 6, for a slice of pizza and other refreshments! The pizza, provided by Weigel Library and K-State Libraries, will arrive about 9:30 pm. Several APDesign student organizations (SCASLA, SPA, IASC and Women in Design) are providing other treats for you to enjoy - rumor has it there will be beverages, root beer floats, veggie and fruit trays and candy. (BYOC/M - Bring your own cup/mug.) Weigel Library supports you throughout the semester with resources, services, technology, and now pizza!

COMMENCEMENT REHEARSAL

Commencement rehearsal, which is required for ALL graduating students, will take place at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15.

In addition to the rehearsal, students will also receive their commencement tickets at this time. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to pick up your tickets before rehearsal.f you cannot attend commencement rehearsal, you need to contact Emily Vietti ASAP to arrange to pick up your commencement tickets, unless you are a KCDC student, in which case we have already made arrangements to get your tickets to you.

ENNEAD PRESENTATIONS

Ennead will be presenting their final work to APDesign next week.

Faculty and staff are invited to a presentation at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 in the Pierce Commons. Students are invited to the presentation at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, also in the Pierce.

EXIT SURVEY

Graduating students, please remember to fill out your exit survey before the survey closes on May 24. You should’ve received a link in your email to the survey, and we need to get a completion rate as near 100 percent as possible. Thank you for your cooperation!

Career and Employment Services is here to help! As we are nearing the end of the semester, remember that CES is available to help you with your job (full- or part-time) and internship searching. 

An individual appointment (call 785-532-6506 or stop by Holtz Hall to schedule) may be a good option if you:

·   Would like a resume or cover letter critique

·   Want to better match your materials to the job

·   Need help preparing for interviews

·   Want to learn how to network

·   Are interested in finding “hidden jobs” that may never be posted

·   Are unsure of what you’d like to do with your major

·   Are (or will be) applying for graduate programs and want to improve your application

·   Have any career-related questions

We are open during the summer and available for recent grads (up to one year past graduation). Beyond that time, Alumni Career Services is available to assist you with your career needs. CES services are available for all students, undergraduate or graduate.

LEAN 101

Join Lean Construction Practitioners from across the Kansas City area to view Learn 101, the introductory session of the Lean Construction Education Program from the Associated General Contractors of America.

The LCI Kansas City Community of Practice and the Builders’ Association will host a group showing of Lean 101, along with discussion of this increasingly popular buzzword, on Wednesday, May 29, starting with check-in at 7:30 a.m. at the Builders’ Association Education & Training Center at 105 W. 12th Avenue, North Kansas City, Missouri, 64116.
