Recommended Computer Landscape Architecture

Non-baccalaureate students will need to purchase a computer before they begin 2nd year.
Post-baccalaureate students will need to purchase a computer before they begin their 1st semester.

  • Precision Tower T5810 <- This model exists to provide an upgrade path for a high-end gaming graphics card for virtual reality or similar hardware.

Warranty

A 4 year warranty is highly recommended.
The Dell systems include a substantial discount for this warranty.

  • External hard drive which meets or exceeds your hard drive capacity (for backups).

Note: When you come to college, bring copies of your operating system and other software installation media (including product keys and licenses) in case a reformat or reinstall becomes necessary.

Recommended options

Insurance
Protect your investment from accidental damage or theft. Check with your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance and verify coverage, recommend purchase of a separate policy for your equipment if necessary.
