Faculty and students from the Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning will be at the American Society of Landscape Architecture in New Orleans October 21-24! We are looking forward to seeing you in NOLA.
A BIG group of students will attend the conference along with Department Head and Professor Stephanie Rolley, Associate Professor Katie Kingery-Page, and Professor Chip Winslow. Dean Tim de Noble will host a special reception for all APDesign alumni immediately following the ASLA Alumni Tailgate on October 22 from 6:30-8:30 pm at The National WWII Museum. At the conference, Stephanie will represent K-State at the ASLA Administrators' Meeting and participate in the Landscape Architecture Foundation board meeting. In addition, she will conduct the LAAB Accreditation Workshop with Karl Von Bieberstein, Newman Jackson Bieberstein, and Kristopher Pritchard, American Society of Landscape Architects on Friday, Oct. 21 from 2-5 pm. The workshop will cover a variety of topics to assist programs through the LAAB accreditation process.
Assistant Professor Alpa Nawre will present in the “Water Infrastructure for the Livable City” session on Friday, Oct. 21 from 3-5 pm. The session will examine the opportunities and challenges of working across the board with consultants, government organizations, and city officials to develop and implement better water management systems. Additional speakers on this panel include Herbert Dreiseitl, Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl; and Clark Wilson, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
