Jongwan Kwon (b. 1984) is an architectural designer and educator. He joined the Department of Architecture in 2021 as an Assistant Professor. His research, teaching, and professional practice examines material culture and infrastructural systems with a focus on regional sustainability.

Prior to joining Kansas State, Jongwan held academic appointments at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2017 and Rhode Island School of Design from 2017 to 2021, where he was nominated for the Frazier Teaching Award. He has also been invited by numerous universities for architecture design reviews, including Auburn University, Boston Architectural College, Harvard GSD, MIT, Ohio State University, RISD, University of Colorado Denver, University of Houston, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Toronto, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Jongwan received a Master of Architecture and a Certificate in Urban Design from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a professional Bachelor of Architecture from Hanyang University with a Summa Cum Laude and Thesis Prize. He gained professional experience in Boston, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Singapore, and Tokyo.
