MOGENS SMED PRESENTS TO COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE, PLANNING & DESIGN
Mogens Smed, CEO, Director and co-founder of DIRTT presented on Nov. 8, 2017 in Regnier Forum as part of the Ekdahl Distinguished Lecture Series. Mogens presented on the challenges designers face as well as his ideas for a more efficient design and construction process. This new process involving prefabricated interior spaces is something that his company, DIRTT, Doing It Right This Time, is working to develop further in both the commercial and residential sectors. While at K-State, Mogens also visited the 5th Year Design Studio taught by Professors Katie Hoke and Vibha Jani and participated in pin-up crits with the 3rd Year Design Studio taught by Professor's Sebnem Demirkan and Hernan Gregorio.
Smed's company, DIRTT, is a manufacturer of prefabricated customizable interior spaces. This technologydriven company combines its proprietary configuration and manufacturing software ICE 3D design with inhouse manufacturing to provide clients with an end-to-end solution. They also strive to place a stronger value on the environment within the construction industry.
