Dear Parents and Students:
Please take a look at the information below regarding commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning & Design.
Commencement is traditionally held in McCain Auditorium beginning promptly 10a.m. on Saturday, May 11.
Students need to be at McCain Auditorium no later than 9a.m. fully dressed and ready to go. During the hour before commencement the photographer will take your headshot and we will get everyone lined up correctly. We will assemble in the Band Room (201 McCain). Please enter McCain from the doors on the south side of the building.
Graduate School commencement is on Friday, May 10 at 1p.m. in Bramlage Coliseum. Students may choose to walk in either or both ceremonies. If you intend to participate in the Graduate School Commencement please let your major professor and department head know well in advance.
Commencement rehearsal is at 3:30 on Thursday, May 9. REHEARSAL IS MANDATORY if you plan to walk in the APDesign Ceremony (except for off-campus students). Please be on time.
Tickets:
Each student attending commencement will receive FOUR tickets together in the orchestra section of McCain Auditorium for commencement. These tickets are free. Any extra tickets we have will be available on a first-come, first served basis after everyone has had an opportunity to pick-up tickets. An email will go out when extra tickets become available. Tickets may be picked up from the Student & Academic Services office, 1127 Regnier beginning the week of April 29, 2024 (If you are unable to attend rehearsal, you will need to make arrangements with Thom Jackson to pick up your tickets.) The balcony in McCain is open seating, so if four tickets are not enough to cover your entire party, people will have the option of sitting in the balcony without tickets. We do not anticipate being too full to accommodate anyone who wants to attend. View McCain seating chart here.
Seating & Elevators
McCain Auditorium has a limited number of accessible seats in the orchestra level section. If anyone in your party needs accessible seating, please contactMcCain@ksu.edu with Amanda Owings. You will be able to get one seat for the person who needs wheelchair or no-stairs seating plus one for a companion. You may also call the ticket office at 785-532-6428, W-F noon to 4 and ask for Amanda. and she will assist. McCain Auditorium does NOT have an elevator that can access the balcony so any members of your party that can not do stairs need to make arrangements for an orchestra seat.
Please note that there is NO will call in the auditorium, so you will need to get your tickets to your relatives/friends prior to the ceremony.
