LARCP Professional Advisory Board

Lauren is the Studio Director for Fletcher Studio, a boutique design-focused office in San Francisco. She graduated in 2013 with a Master in Landscape Architecture from KSU. In her role she leads project design conceptualization, and directs day-to-day team operations, staffing and workflows. Lauren started advocating for meaningful community engagement processes during her education at K-State, and continues to seek purposeful collaboration through the studio’s pro-bono HOPE+SPACE program. She recently served as co-chair for the Annual ASLA 2022 Legacy Project, which encouraged high school students to pursue careers in landscape architecture through the design of a downtown slow street.

Derek, KSU MLA 2013 Graduate, is a landscape architect and urban designer with a decade of professional experience and life-long exposure to the profession being a second-generation L.A. Before starting MCLV, Derek worked at SWABalsley, GGN, and OLIN. The KSU LARCP Department has been integral to Derek's life from childhood, which has led him to continually find ways to stay connected to the program and its students.

Stephanie provides direct supervision for all activities in the Planning Division of the Community Development Department, including supporting a team of five full-time employees and one intern. • Oversees development review process for current planning, long-range planning, and special projects. Interacts with design professionals, property owners, and members of the public. • Presents projects to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and City Council. • Tracks projects and reports progress to various audiences.

Kye is the Community Development Coordinator at Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills, a Manhattan area non-profit organization focused on affordable housing. He graduated in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Real Estate and Community Development from KSU. In his current role at Habitat, he supports fundraising initiatives, community development, engagement, and advancement work, as well as volunteer coordination and community event planning. He works to bring awareness of housing inequality and affordability issues through the Northern Flint Hills area.

Ashley is a Project Leader at site, with experience as a team leader and construction manager at multiple international design firms. She is a Licensed Landscape Architect in Florida and New York. Over her eight years of professional experience, Ashley has worked on local and international projects at various scales from early conceptual design through construction administration; bridging design to documentation and implementation.

Deanne received her Masters of Regional and Community Planning from K-State in 2014 and has ten years of experience in public and private sector planning. She is a senior planner, project manager, and Planning Team Leader at TranSystems where she specializes in transportation master plans, corridor plans, and feasibility studies. Her interdisciplinary approach to planning issues helps create a bridge between communities and the technical spheres of engineering, planning, and urban design. Deanne has also been actively involved in leadership positions within the American Planning Association - Kansas City section and the Kanas City Center for Architecture & Design. She enjoys educational outreach activities to help high school and college students explore potential STEAM careers.

Olivia is a Senior Associate at Coleman & Associates in Austin, Texas. She received her Masters in Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University. Olivia has a broad experience in the field of landscape architecture and has recently worked in both private and public development. Her passion for design is cultivated by being given the opportunity to take risks boldly, imaginatively responding to complex problems, and serving other positively through landscape design.

Mike Rieger is the Deputy Director of The East Cut Community Benefit District, an urban place management non-profit in Downtown San Francisco. In his role, he oversees and ensures the effective delivery of neighborhood services, programs, and placemaking projects and leads strategic planning to achieve the organization’s mission. He previously worked for the City of San Francisco's Public Works Department as a Project Manager, implementing large-scale capital projects, including streetscape and street infrastructure improvements, and worked in private practice landscape architecture post-graduation. Mike is a Professional Landscape Architect in the State of California and earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree with a minor in Horticulture from K-State in 2006.

Kayla Savage is Director of Community Engagement at the Kansas Department of Commerce. She provides engagement on behalf of the Secretary of Commerce and Lieutenant Governor with communities across Kansas for various Commerce initiatives. She also represents the Secretary on various Boards and Commissions, including the Kansas Water Authority, Kansas State Fair Board, Business Hall of Fame and the Information Network for Kansas.

Kayla has nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, community development and public service administration. She earned her BFA in Communications-Public Relations from Emporia State University and Master of Science in Community Development from Kansas State University

Graham, as a Principal and the Director of the Multistudio Studio for City Design, focuses on providing policy and urban design guidance to communities and clients. Graham approaches planning and design at the urban scale, with a keen understanding of how public space and private development work together to build places. Through the preparation of community, area, neighborhood, corridor, and special project plans, design guidelines, and regulations, Graham provides the clients he engages with visionary, implementable guidance for the future. With extensive professional planning experience in both the public and private sectors, Graham brings a unique perspective to projects.
