Alyxius Torres is a dedicated professional with a dynamic background in organizational leadership, student engagement, financial assistance, and graphic design. With a Bachelor of General Studies from Fort Hays State University—concentrating in Organizational Leadership and Early Childhood Development—Alyxius seamlessly blends administrative expertise with creative problem-solving and leadership experience.
Currently serving as an Assistant Recruiter in Student & Academic Services at Kansas State University's College of Architecture, Planning & Design, Alyxius plays a key role in student outreach, engagement, and recruitment efforts. Their ability to connect with students and streamline administrative processes contributes to the college’s mission of attracting and supporting future design professionals.
Previously, Alyxius worked as an Office Specialist in Kansas State’s Interior Architecture and Industrial Design department, where they managed financial transactions, accreditation processes, and departmental data analysis. Their experience in financial operations was further honed as a Financial Assistance Specialist at Fort Hays State University, where they facilitated Workday data verification, coordinated events, and designed promotional materials.
Alyxius has a strong background in student engagement and marketing, having served as a Student Engagement Specialist at Fort Hays State University. In this role, they developed university event strategies, designed marketing materials, and analyzed student involvement data through the Tigerlink platform. Their expertise in graphic design was further developed as a Graphic Designer for Tiger Media Network, where they created promotional content using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva.
Beyond higher education, Alyxius has a deep passion for athletics and coaching. Since 2021, they have worked as a Pitching Coach, training athletes in skill development and technique refinement. They have also served as an Assistant Softball Coach at Ellis High School and a Head Coach for youth softball and volleyball teams with the Ellis and Hays Recreation Commissions.
Alyxius is also committed to community service and advocacy. Their volunteer efforts include organizing Hispanic Heritage Month events, leading backpack drives for underprivileged children and participating in social awareness programs such as the Tunnel of Oppression. They have held leadership positions in student organizations, including Vice President of Teachers of Tomorrow and Senator At-Large for the Student Government Association.
Alyxius actively pursues professional development, having attended conferences such as the Kansas Higher Education Professionals Conference and the Hispanic College Institution. Their dedication to education, leadership, and community engagement makes them a valuable asset in academic, creative, and athletic environments.
