Cale Curtiss is a fabrication specialist and industrial designer with a passion for creating compelling, real-world solutions through craftsmanship, digital design, and storytelling. He earned his Master of Industrial Design from Kansas State University’s College of Architecture, Planning & Design in 2025.
Cale’s work blends technical precision with creativity, informed by his background in CAD modeling, CNC fabrication, rendering, and hands-on prototyping. His design philosophy emphasizes functionality, community impact, and professional execution across both digital and physical mediums.
While at K-State, he received multiple honors, including the 2024 Fit Sports Design Award, multiple Dean’s List distinctions, and featured placements in the Made in Manhattan exhibition and other in-college showcases. He was selected for the Kansas City Design Center program in Fall 2023 and served as a Teaching Assistant for digital applications, helping students master industry-standard design software.
Cale also worked in the college’s design and fabrication labs, where he guided students and maintained a safe and efficient workshop environment. His internship at MJE Livestock Equipment in Montezuma, Kansas, further expanded his skills in product development, visualization, and documentation.
Raised in rural southwest Kansas, Cale grew up immersed in creativity—building with Legos, crafting Nerf gun mods, and later replicating film props. This early curiosity evolved into a career grounded in industrial design and hands-on making. Outside of the shop, he’s a dedicated friend and community member who enjoys board games, video games, and shared meals with others.
Whether he’s crafting a high-detail render or fabricating a one-off prototype, Cale is driven by the goal of making things not just work—but feel real, refined, and meaningful.
