Carol Martin Watts is an architectural historian with a special interest in Roman architecture and urban transformation in Italy. Her publications have included topics such as geometry in Roman architecture, transformation of Italian hill towns and cities, and ancient water systems. After many years teaching survey courses on the history of the designed environment, she taught design studio and seminars on the Italian city. She has served as Associate Department Head and Graduate Program Director for the Department of Architecture.
