Na'Shon Edwards, Sr., MCD, is a Social Justice Fellow with The Memorial Foundation and a doctoral student majoring in Public Policy with an emphasis on Social Policy - at Liberty University (LU). Na'Shon, Sr. is also a professor of community development at the University of Texas-San Antonio and Kansas State University. As a graduate student at Prairie View A&M University, Na'Shon, Sr., committed his research effort to Community Development Research and Policy in rural and urban regions in Texas, specifically Houston and Waller County. Na'Shon, Sr. currently serves on the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) Houston T4T Leadership Advisory Board and is a Social Justice Fellow for Washington D.C.-based organization The Memorial Foundation. Na'Shon, Sr.'s work on urban and rural community development has been presented through academic organizations such as the American Education Research Association, Community Development Society, and Community Development Education Symposium.

Moreover, Na'Shon has used his affiliations in professional organizations such as Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., American Planning Association, and Emerging 100 Houston to support his areas of expertise in practical community development in limited-resource communities. Lastly, he is published in the Texas Institute for the Preservation of History and Culture and the Houston Forward Time. Na’Shon’s current research focuses on barriers associated with Community Development Policy. He aspires to become a thought leader in Public Policy that emphasizes Community Development and Housing.

Na'Shon Edwards, Sr. is also Principle Consultant at Edwards & Jones Consulting located in Houston, TX. EJC is a budding and successful political consulting firm that has consulted with prominent elected officials in Texas. EJC is proud to challenge the notion that young people of minority descent can't compete in political and civic spaces in such trying times.

Not only is Na’Shon an academic and entrepreneur, but is also recognized in industry and professional settings. Na'Shon is a Prairie View A&M University Unknown 8 Recipient, City of Houston BRAVO Award, the highest award a civilian working can earn. He was voted the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. 9th District Director of Public Relations in 2022. Na'Shon has a heart of service and fervent belief that "If I can help somebody, as I travel along If I can help somebody, with a word or song If I can help somebody, from doing wrong No, my living shall not be in vain."
