Thom has been a pivotal figure in shaping the public image and community engagement of Kansas State University's College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign) since May 2013. As the Director of Communications & Events, he orchestrates the college's internal and external communications, manages event planning, and fosters relationships that enhance APDesign's visibility and reputation.
Before his tenure at APDesign, Jackson served as the Assistant Director at Kansas State University's McCain Auditorium, where he contributed to the university's cultural and artistic outreach. He also held the position of Executive Director of Foundation/Marketing at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community, demonstrating his versatility in marketing and public relations across diverse sectors.
Jackson's academic background includes a bachelors degree in Telecommunications from the State University of New York Institute of Technology and graduate work from Syracuse University. A resident of Manhattan, Kansas, since 1994, he has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the university and the local community.
In his role at APDesign, Jackson is known for his strategic communication initiatives and meticulous event coordination, which have significantly contributed to the college's mission of advancing design excellence and innovation.
