Irma joined the College of Architecture, Planning and Design in August 2022. She provides academic advising to undergraduate and graduate students, monitors student progress, and assists with academic activities, policies, and decisions, and serves as liaison to the Department of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design.
Before joining APDesign, Irma served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Communication Studies department at K-State. Additionally, she has been a member of Engineers Without Border-USA with K-State’s student led chapter since 2014 and an alumnus of the Developing Scholars Program.
Irma is originally from Guatemala and a first-generation college student who transferred from Garden City Community College. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition with a minor in Spanish Language and has completed graduate course work for the Master of Arts in Communication Studies at K-State.
