SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT
Facilities will be replacing sidewalk sections along 17th Street on the west side of Seaton Hall by its south entrance. The contractors will work on half the sidewalk at a time to keep as much foot traffic flowing as possible. Short interruptions in access can be expected. The work will start Monday, Sept. 17, and have last about two weeks.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE PRESENTATION
Who: Kansas State Board of Technical Professions

Why: Inform potential licensees in the State of Kansas about the Board, our purpose, licensure, and examinations … and to answer questions

FAYEZ HUSSEINI MEMORIAL SERVICE NEXT MONDAY
A memorial service will be held to remember IAPD Professor Fayez Husseini at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at All Faiths Chapel on campus. Students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends are invited to come join in the celebration of Fayez’s life and work. We hope you will join us for this special evening.
NEW EDITIONS IN WEIGEL’S REFERENCE COLLECTION
In addition to new books that continue to arrive, many Weigel reference titles have been updated as well.
The latest International Codes are available - IBC, IFC, IMC along with eleven other codes, all 2012 editions.
Six titles in the RS Means Cost Data 2012 series were purchased. These include Site Work and Landscape, Interior, Building Construction, Square Foot Costs and others.
Other updates to the reference shelf include - Dirr’s Encyclopedia of Trees and Shrubs (2011), Manual of Woody Landscape Plants (2009), Neufert Architects’ Data (2012), Interior Graphic Standards (2011), IES Lighting Handbook (2011), Ching’s Virtual Dictionary of Architecture (2012) and Uniform Plumbing Code (2012).
Since all of these are reference books and can’t be checked out or leave the library, plan to come up and use them in Weigel!
ALL-UNIVERSITY CAREER FAIR
Visit with over 200 employers for career, internship, and co-op positions. Bring your student ID, multiple copies of your resume, and dress professionally. A career fair shuttle (ATA bus) will be available to take students from the Union to the northwest entrance of Bramlage Coliseum. The shuttle will run approximately every 20 minutes beginning at 10:45 a.m. until 4 p.m.

LEAN DESIGN/3P
Thursday, Sept. 20, from 5:30-7 p.m., the AIA Kansas City office will offer a class on the Lean Design/3P with case studies, followed by a Q&A.
The learning objectives for the class include providing a Lean Design process overview and comparing Lean Design to traditional design methods. The class will be taught by Patrick Leahy of Burns & McDonnell and Hal Hudson, Lean/3P facilitator at Mercy Medical Center in Iowa. For more information, contact AIA Kansas City.
