Weigel Resources
Weigel library has recently acquired new material resources (these are resources recommended by IAPD Advisory Board member Andrea Nelson at Herman Miller, Inc) for your use. Each expands our resources related to materials, materiality, and manufacturing (as well as being beautiful and interesting reading).

Faculty Exhibit Submissions
The faculty show in Chang Gallery is scheduled for February 10 to February 28. If you are interested in being part of the exhibit, please send Thomas Jackson an e-mail (tjackson@ksu.edu) with the title of your work and the specs/needs for display.
Kudos
Dave Richter-O’Connell's poster submission “Heartwood: Exploring the Connections between the Designing and Making of Wooden Furniture and the Resulting Perceived Spiritual Rewards” was double-blind peer-reviewed for acceptance and the abstract accompanying his submission will be published in the Conference Proceedings for EDRA45NewOrleans. Congratulations!
Competitions
Digifabulous Competition
The University of Minnesota Regis Center for Art is holding a national competition for students and professionals alike. The exhibition will focus on works that are either wholly or partially digitally fabricated and should relate to the fields of Fine Art and Design, or anywhere in-between. Work will be on display at the University of Minnesota from March 25 – April 5. The deadline for submission is February 18th and for more information, click here.
Woodworking Competition
Super “WOOD” Bowl turning contest is now open for entries. Enter photos of your lathe turned bowl for a chance to win a number of prizes. See more information about rules and regulations here.
Scholarships
The Sylvan R. Shemitz memorial scholarship is being awarded to a student who demonstrates creativity, vision and knowledge in the field of architectural lighting. The total scholarship will be $2,500. For information on how to apply, please see here .
Fellowships and Grants
FY 2015 DCE Opportunities
Faculty, the Division of Continuing Education has released their request for proposals for program development grants. Funds from the grant will be used to support faculty and staff in the development of online courses and programs, new conferences and research related to distance education. Deadline for submissions is Friday, March 7th. If you are interested in pursuing this opportunity, meet with Kathy prior to developing your full proposal.
FDA and USRG Proposal Call
Faculty, the office of Research and Sponsored Programs is accepting proposals for the Spring 2014 FDA (Faculty Development Award) and USRG (University Small Research Grant).
