50th Celebration Schedule

The anticipation is over! This weekend we get to celebrate 50 years of IAPD, embracing our history and looking forward to the future. Hopefully you all have RSVP'd for events, click here for a detailed schedule for the weekend. 

Friday, April 10 - BBQ at Manhattan City Park Wefald Pavilion - 5:30-8pm 

Saturday, April 11 - Open House around campus and Seaton Hall - 9am - 3pm

Saturday, April 11 - Banquet and Silent Auction at Flint Hills Discovery Center - 5:30-8:30pm

Production Furniture for the Contract Market

Students in the Production Furniture for the Contract Market class enjoyed reviews a week ago with members of our IAPD Advisory Board, OFS Brands, as well as Brian Graham and Bob Beck. S.E.A. Earth Day

Students for Environmental Action (S.E.A.) is extending an invitation to IAPD students and faculty to participate in their annual Earth Day event. They will set up a booth with activities outside in Bosco Plaza along with many other organizations. This is a great opportunity to promote the awareness of the environmental needs of today. 

The event will be held Wednesday, April 22nd. If you are interested in participating, contact Lawrence Tan at lztan@ksu.edu ASAP.

Student Update

The second years began their desk organizer project last week. Each student is designing a way to organize what they use the most now and might use in the future. They will hopefully be used for the remaining time they have at KSU.

IAPD 50th Anniversary Chang Gallery Display

Check out the 50th Anniversary Display in the Chang Gallery  "Honoring the Legacy, Embracing the Future" this week.. Celebrating the rich traditions, continuing vision, and strength of our alumni and students, the display tells the story of IAPD. 

Darkness to Light: An Artist's Visual and Spiritual Journey Exhibition Opens in the William T. Kemper Gallery

The exhibition will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Willliam T. Kemper Gallery, in the Student Union Building until April 13th.  Prof. Jani would love to get feedback from the visitors of this exhibition and hopes that visitors will share their stories and journeys with her. 

5th Year Furniture Show at Helix in Kansas City

Fifth year students created an exhibition of furniture projects at the office of Helix in Kansas City Friday evening that attracted crowds of viewers. Throughout the evening, a steady stream of First Friday visitors, alumni, family and friends circulated throughout the space, testing the comfort and admiring the design and craft of the work.
