Open House
Open House 2015

April 15, 2015

Department Head Notes

Thank you to everyone who made our Open House and 50th Anniversary Celebration such a success! The 3rd year students (with faculty mentor Donna Fullmer) were on top of this from day one and created a meaningful, engaging and delightful series of exhibits. Now we look forward to "business as usual" and the projects, reviews, and preparations associated with the final few weeks of the academic year.

Be sure to participate in the new building studio furnishings design charrette Thursday at 12:30; attend John Norris' presentation Thursday at 2:30; and if you are a first year student - to attend our meeting on Thursday evening at 6:00.

I'm proud of IAPD students, staff and faculty; and took great pleasure in connecting with our alumni over the weekend!

Alumni Fellow Presentation

2015 Alumni Fellow, John Norris, will be presenting on Thursday at 2:30 in Seaton 106C. Please make an effort to attend.

Mr. Norris has worked closely with IAPD through the Digital Fabrication courses taught by Dustin Headley. He has an immense amount of insight and the presentation promises to be an informative one.

APDPro Mentoring Program

Design your future.

Participate in the NEW APDPro Mentor Program.

We're very excited to announce the addition of the APDPro Mentor Program! As a part of APDPro, current 2nd, 3rd and 4th year APDPro students are invited to apply to participate in the program.

The mission of the APDPro Mentor Program is to afford design and planning students the opportunity to learn from skilled and practiced professionals who can help guide them and provide advice as they transition to their career.

Once your application is accepted, you will be matched with a mentor in the fall of 2015. Before you're matched, you'll attend an orientation for the program so you know what's expected of you.

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, MAY 8TH CLICK HERE TO APPLY

Faculty Moving Offices

Faculty, please read these tips regarding the impending move for your offices. We will have student workers available to help as needed.

1. Be proactive - do not wait until the last minute to clean out your office.

2. Separate out recycling and trash. If there is enough time and coordination, rolling recycling bins can be moved to your office. They cannot stay in your office, so sorting needs to occur prior.

3. Materials needing to be shredded can be taken to the 2nd floor copy room. These items can be deposited into the shredding box located there (which is currently emptied once per month).

Suggestions or questions? Please contact Mary or Kathy.
