IT'S ABOUT THAT TIME

Summer is officially coming to an end and we are very excited to have everyone back on campus! The first day of classes begins on August 22nd and IAPD has a busy day planned. Please note that the IAPD faculty will be having the annual welcome back meeting with all IAPD students 2:30-3:30 pm on August 22nd in the Union Big 12 Room. Following our welcome back get together we will all attend the All College Forum in the Union's Forum Hall. Also, please note that following the all college forum we will have the annual APDesign photo taken outside of Seaton Hall. As a reward for surviving your first day of classes and all these meetings there will be food! The All College Picnic will follow the photo and it will be held outside of Holtz Hall. WELCOME BACK!

IAPD FACULTY CHANGES

We had to sadly say goodbye to Kathy Ankerson as department head this summer. She is enjoying her new job as Dean of the College of Architecture at Nebraska-Lincoln. Our new interim department head for this year is Amie Keener. Amie will be with us this year as the search committee looks for a new department head. This summer Wendy Queal was promoted to Project Coordinator for IAPD. Dave Richter-O'Connell is taking a one year leave of absence and we will miss him greatly. On a happy note, Ryadi Adityavarman is back from his one year leave! We also have 3 new faculty members who will be teaching in IAPD this year, Katie Hoke, Robyn Tank and Sebnem Demirkan. It is going to be a great year in IAPD with a lot of new energy and ideas.

IAPD NEW GTAS

We would like to give a special shout out to IAPD's new GTAs who will be working hard this year! Congrats to Kat Arndt, Emma Cole, Jacob Becker, Jamie Causey, Kendall Harvey, Garrett Steinlage, Whitney Lawson, Steven Scott and Kelsey Castinado. We know they will do a great job!

If you need to meet with your advisor be aware that they have relocated their offices to Seaton 317. You can set up appointment times online by scheduling here.

Wait until you see all the progress that has been made over the summer on Seaton! It has been fun to watch!
