WELCOME BACK!
Welcome back!  We hope you had a great summer.  There are exciting things happening this year in IAPD!  We are glad you are apart of it.  Please make sure that TODAY you attend the IAPD Welcome Back get together in the Union Big 12 Room, 2:30-3:30.  Also, today is All College Forum at 4:00; All College Photo, 5:00; and the All College Picnic at 5:15!
 
COCKTAIL NAPKIN SKETCH CONTEST CHARRETTE
You are invited to enter the annual Architectural Record Magazine cocktail napkin sketch contest. APDesign will supply the cocktail napkins and the fun!
Two grand prize winners will receive an Apple Watch Sport and a box of cocktail napkins printed with their winning sketch. All winners and runners-up will have their sketches published in the November 2016 issue of RECORD and featured in our online gallery.
  
APDesign will be hosting a charrette the evening of September 1st at APD West.  The time will be announced soon. You may submit up to 6 sketches. 
 
DESIGN WARS
Mark your calendars! The 4th Annual IIDA Mid-America Student Design Wars will take place in Kansas City on September 30th. During this one-day charrette challenge, teams of students will leverage their creative talents to compete for a shared $2,000 cash prize!
WEIGEL LIBRARY
NEW BOOKS ARE ARRIVING IN WEIGEL AGAIN!
 Find them on the New Resources shelf, browse through them and then check them out! You'll be glad you did!  One of the new books is Foundations of Interior Design by Susan Slotkis (CD-ROM prepared by Kathy Ankerson).  Please visit Weigel Library!  They have so much to offer.
