10 YEAR ALUMNI HONOREES

IAPD's 10 year alumni honorees, Drew and Melissa Marlow from Denver spent Wednesday and Thursday with us. They gave a great presentation to our students about a couple of their current projects and gave great advice. IAPD is so appreciative of their time!

ICE CREAM SOCIAL

We will be having an ice cream social on Friday at 3:00 in the IAPD end space at APD West with our Advisory Board. We'd love to have IAPD students attend and participate in an informal panel. It is your chance to ask our Advisory Board questions.

ANNUAL SUNSET ZOO PUMPKIN CARVING

2nd year IAPD students once again joined forces with Sunset Zoo for the annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. This is the 6th year for this event! IAPD students get to assist children who are enrolled in the zoo's child care center, a nature-based program for children 2 1/2 to 5 years of age. Participants designed and carved pumpkins inspired by animals at the Sunset Zoo.

LUNCH AND LEARN

There was a great turn out for the lunch and learn with 1991 graduate Kevin Carr with USG. He discussed their product line highlighting acoustics. The attendance was capped at 60. If you missed out on this one there will be another opportunity to attend a lunch and learn this semester.

HERA ANNUAL CONFERENCE PRESENTATION

Professor Chris Manzo recently attended the Housing, Education, and Research Association (HERA) annual conference in Jacksonville, Florida. HERA is an organization that promotes excellence in the planning, development, delivery, and service of decent, safe, sanitary, affordable, ecologically sound, and appropriately designed housing for all people. Chris presented his abstract entitled "From Drawing Board to Tiny House: Student Engagement With Cultures of Building".

PHOTOS NEEDED

IAPD would appreciate it if you would email pictures you take during studio, student meetings, process photos, shop pictures, field trips etc to add to the photo gallery on the IAPD website. You can send them to iapd@ksu.edu or queal5@ksu.edu. It is important to show our prospective students what they can look forward to in IAPD!
