2ND YEAR SHELTERBOX PROJECT
IAPD 2nd year students recently had the opportunity to learn about a Shelter Box Refugee project. It was a fun day for the 2nd years learning about international refugee issues.  The Shelter Box Refugee tent went along with their current studio project which is imagining what the future will be, and how housing will be conceived in the future.
RYADI PRESENTS IN LONDON
Last week Prof. Ryadi Adityavarman gave a presentation on the topic of creative hidden dimensions in design studio teaching in the International Conference of Education at the University of London.  He also had the opportunity to visit Central St. Martin, one of the premier art and design schools in the United Kingdom, in which several of our current 5th-year IAPD students did their study abroad this past summer.

Ryadi hd a campus tour during his visit to Central St. Martin with Prof. Patricia Austin, the Director for Spatial Narrative Program.
COMPETITION OPPORTUNITY
There is an exciting opportunity to compete in an international competition called  Place and Displacement: A Marketplace in Refugee Settlements. It is a competition that challenges the innovative minds around the globe to design a marketplace to promote refugee livelihoods. The total prize package is $30,000, and K-State students are invited to participate. Deadline to enter is December 3rd.
