Credit for Prior Learning

As a student in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design, you will be investing considerable time in your course work. By taking certain college courses before entering APDesign, you may take fewer required courses at K-State thereby “lightening” your semester course load. College classes to consider taking before you enter APDesign:

  • College Algebra (or higher-level math)
  • Expository Writing I
  • Expository Writing II
  • Public Speaking
  • Physics (must be equivalent to Descriptive Physics or General Physics I)
  • General Electives (see the curriculum guide links below to find the number of general electives required by each degree program)

Find applicable equivalent from other accredited community colleges or universities

Advanced standing credit

Students who have taken Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) exams may receive college credit depending on exam taken and score received. Students who have completed the test should have their official scores forwarded to the Office of Recruitment and Admissions in order to receive credit.
