"Intertwined" is an abstract, sculptural project that explores the use of a 2D parti to design a 3D object which fully
embodies the chosen concept. Inspired by the connection of vines, trees, and roots in nature, "Intertwined"
emphasizes the strength of individual fibers when they come together as a whole. The main sculptural form consists
of thickly twined rope encircling its primary focal point, the knot. Wire bracing supports the seemingly suspended
structure while lashing of thinner wire connects rope to rope. The sturdy, wooden base provides solid "ground" to
anchor the intertwined forms. Rope is the material of choice as it emphasizes the idea that smaller parts come
together to make something stronger. Series of threes are also emphasized throughout the piece: 3 ropes, 3 legs, 3
braces, etc. Green, chosen to pay homage to vines and nature, grows up the "vine" and eventually differentiates the
primary knot from the rest of the neutral rope and base. The primary knot then precedes to assert dominance over
the other forms, pressing the rope below it into the "ground" and forming an implied space.
