IAID's Mission & Vision

Our mission in the Department of Interior Architecture & Industrial Design is dedicated to providing design education that advances user-centered design through innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and applied learning. We empower students to become creative problem solvers, ethical professionals, and leaders in design and design thinking by fostering a culture of experimentation, empathy, and sustainability. IAID contributes to shaping environments and products that enhance well-being, equity, and sustainability through research, applied learning, community engagement, and professional partnerships.

Our department offers dynamic and innovative programs in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design. Each program combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing students to create meaningful and impactful designs for society.
Master of Interior Architecture
The Master of Interior Architecture program offers two dedicated design studio sections at each year level, typically maintaining a 1:16 faculty-to-student ratio with a maximum studio enrollment of 18 students. Students benefit from individualized instruction, a dedicated materials library, extensive use of our state-of-the-art FAB Lab, and opportunities to collaborate through interdisciplinary studios and industry-sponsored projects.
Master of Industrial Design
The Master of Industrial Design program features small studio cohorts, typically maintaining a 1:12 faculty-to-student ratio with a maximum studio enrollment of 18 students. Students work closely with faculty while gaining hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art FAB Lab and collaborating with industry partners on sponsored design projects.
Bachelor of Science in Interior Design
The Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program offers two dedicated studio sections at each year level. First-year studios maintain a maximum 1:20 faculty-to-student ratio and include upper-level student mentors who support new students throughout the studio experience. Upper-level studios typically maintain a 1:16 faculty-to-student ratio. Students also benefit from a dedicated materials library, professional mentoring, and multiple opportunities to engage with practicing designers throughout the curriculum.
