Welcome Back!!

As we enter a new academic year with a renewed vigor and anticipation, remember to attend the All-IAPD meeting on Monday, August 26 in the Pierce Commons from 1:00-1:45. Later that afternoon is the All-College meeting in Forum Hall (Student Union) at 3:30. Be sure to attend both of these important meetings!

There are many avenues for your involvement in IAPD, APDesign, and beyond. Consider ways you will become involved this coming year - through one of the many student groups or various planned activities - in attending lectures and exhibits - in volunteering for worthy causes. In every instance, remember that you become what others know of IAPD, and you have the ability to influence their perception not only of our department but of the value of design and design education! I encourage you to educate others about IAPD and design, through your actions and your words. Respond as opportunities become available and if you don't see what you are interested in, seek further or make a suggestion!

Third Floor Tidbits from Weigel Library

New books have continued to arrive in Weigel Library throughout the summer.  You can keep updated on collection additions by clicking the “New Resources” link on the Weigel Library webpage (http://www.lib.k-state.edu/architecture).
Better yet, you can see the recent acquisitions on the “New Resources” shelf in Weigel.  Then you can check them out!

Faculty: If you have not already done so, it is time to provide Maxine the list of resources you need on reserve in Weigel Library for your fall classes.   The more information you can supply for each selected book/media (title, call number, edition) the better. Also on that list please include 1) course name; 2) course number; and 3) loan period for materials (2 hour/overnight, 2 hour closed, 1 day, 3 day, 1 week).   If there are multiple instructors connected to that reserve list, please provide them as well, such as a studio class.

Lists can be emailed (mlganske@k-state.edu), brought to Weigel Library or left in Weigel’s 2nd floor mailbox.
