2nd Years took a field trip to Wichita where they visited a Frank Lloyd Wright house, SJCF Firm and Exploration Place.

The Royal Purple is offering campus organizations such as IDSA, IIDA, IAPD Student Council, Spark etc the opportunity to be featured in the 2017 yearbook.  Please take advantage of this opportunity to highlight IAPD Student Organizations!  It is a FREE service.  Visit their website to schedule your photo. Being featured in the Royal Purple is an invaluable way to commemorate your group and recognize your hard work.

2ND YEAR STUDIO UPDATE
The 2nd years are in the middle of working on their tiny house projects. They have taken field trips to see Tiny Homes around Manhattan and went to Wichita recently to look at a design firm and gain spatial understanding from the Exploration Place and The Allen House by Frank Lloyd Wright. They are now applying those ideas to our tiny homes and nearing production week.  Thanks to Abby Dick for the update.
COMPETITION OPPORTUNITIES
Fusion 360 Competition-
The Autodesk "Design for Home & Office" Challenge gets you and your designs closer to industry professionals and will help launch your career! Use Autodesk® Fusion 360™ to design a 3D personal work space and you could earn prizes, recognition, and face-to-face time with industry leaders from Steelcase. You will compete against other student designers and entries will be judged by a panel of top designers from Steelcase.
Simply create a 3D model of a personal workspace Autodesk® Fusion 360™ to participate.
NEWH, Inc. is offering a $4,000  Product Design Competition Scholarship sponsored by Symmons.
The winning applicant will be honored at HD Expo on May 3, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The scholarship recipient is required to attend the award presentation with paid airfare and lodging
provided. Scholarship submission deadline is January 9th, 2017.

HOUSEKEEPING
At APD West refrigerators will be cleaned on Tuesdays.  Anything older than 1 week will be thrown away.  Paper towels are located on top of the north refrigerator.  Please cover items while heating them in the microwave.  If you spill something, wipe it up immediately.  If you put up flyers for events or meetings, please remove the signage after the event is furnished.  At no time are pets allowed inside of APD West.
