During their tenure with state government, all interns will gather for policy briefings, professional development, networking, and more. This series of lectures and interactive sessions will feature Governor’s Office senior staff, cabinet secretaries, policy directors, and an address from Governor Colyer.

As an intern in this position, you will be expected to assist with creating CAD drawings and details including updating code footprint plans for the capitol complex. Also, participation in project development of small scale projects, including designing/drafting construction documents (floor plans, elevations, site plans, details and specification writing) and perform construction administration duties such as inspections and coordination meetings. You may also be involved with 2012 IBC code compliance and 2010 ADA Standards reviews for state projects.

Your Role
As a Krause Intern, you will be responsible for working with a designer/project manager in a collaborative, team environment to interpret the client’s needs into well thought out, creative solutions that exceed our client’s expectations.

Your Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited architectural design program. Students in their final year are preferred as Interns are frequently offered permanent positions (based on performance) upon graduation.

• Fluency and confidence using Revit and working knowledge of AutoCad required
• Working knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Working knowledge or Familiarity with Adobe Suite preferred.
• Demonstrated rendering capabilities a plus.
• A style, demeanor, work ethic and personality appropriate for internal team and client interaction is essential to your success.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform drafting on projects of varying complexity with supervision
  • Review and integrate structural drawings into the architectural construction drawings on assigned projects
  • Assist technicians and architects with various project related duties
  • Help with project development and design from the inception of the project and into construction drawings
  • Develop presentation materials, models, and renderings for client meetings
  • Participate and coordinate design drawings between all disciplines (i.e. Architectural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Structural & Specialty Consultants)

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Architecture required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate others and work effectively in a team oriented environment with a desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to schedule, prioritize and ensure completion and accuracy of assigned tasks with assigned supervision
  • Prefer candidates that have experience with Revit, as modeling of all of our design work is paramount.
