2020 APDesign Charrette Competition
First of all, congratulations to all seven teams for the effort put into the Ideas Competition for the design of a new urban park housing a (1) multi-function community recreation center and (2) an (actual and virtual) museum. Your efforts were well-received by the jury comprised primarily of community members and officials of the City of Manhattan.
As with all such competitions, a wide range of provocative ideas were presented and, as was obvious in the jury deliberations, each proposal had numerous attributes and amenities worthy of incorporation in the actual realization of the project. As per the directive of the program, each team presented well-considered proposals for pedestrian access to the site, currently cut off from the Blue Earth Plaza development by Fort Riley Blvd and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and easement.
