Associate Professor David Brown is a furniture design professor and can often be found in the IAPD furniture design workshop helping students to better their designs. Professor Brown is a born and raised Kansan who received his bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture at Kansas State University. Afterwards, he attended North Carolina State University where he obtained his Master in Product Design. Before returning to K-State to teach in the IAPD Department, he worked as a professional furniture designer and a graphics/systems designer for a sign company.
Professor Brown has won awards at the IWF Design Emphasis Furniture Design Competition for a number of different furniture pieces and often uses his skills to assist students with their design award submissions.
Professor Brown is the resident expert on the CNC in the IAPD furniture design workshop and continues to explore innovative approaches to its use in the envisioning, modeling, and creation of furniture.
