The K-State Salina Campus, in collaboration with General Atomics, has commissioned IAID to help them design an exhibit to inspire visitors and current students alike.
To create a space reflecting a three-dimensional journey that maps out information for potential students, algorithmic design processes are used in the project as an inspiration moment for students and visitors attending the university. Contemporary design paradigms are shifting, and parametric design is becoming more relevant. Parametric design is a tool used to increase productivity and efficiency in the design process. Unique shapes specially tailored to design contexts can be formed to create a feeling of movement and integration. This project will study how parametric design principles and tools in developing exhibit components will facilitate narrative flow, aid user navigation, and enhance user experience in a university learning hub.
