Phoebe was initially intended to be an at-home task chair with more seating position options than the standard but quickly transformed into an everywhere chair. The wide curve of the seat allows flexibility throughout use while the structured back provides stability over longer periods of time. The pattern of the metal in the chair back lightens the overall presence of the chair while reflecting the form of the seat itself. A specific use of monochromatic materials is balanced by the visual texture created in the back of the chair as well as the selected upholstery fabric. Phoebe can fulfill many functions and is lightweight enough to be transported between contexts.
