The Egg Table is a portable table made of poplar wood and metal tube and rod. Inspired by the shape of an egg, the piece exhibits simple yet eye-catching curves with a bottom-heavy appearance. The table consists of two round surfaces; one for short, small objects on top, and another for taller, larger objects on the bottom. The metal tube bends around the wood surfaces to create a continuous loop with a symmetrical egg silhouette. Metal plate stretches underneath both wood pieces to give the illusion of floating surfaces. Rather than the table standing on three or four legs, a circular bent piece of rod acts as the single leg that the stability of the table relies on. The metal frame is finished with spray paint and sanded smooth for a comfortable grasp on the handle.
