  • Materials: Every piece in the series uses felt as the main material with wood dowels as structure and leather anywhere there is user interaction. Removable pins and felt protectors where the dowels insert are 3D printed with PLA.

As I colored with my grandma over summers, it became increasingly difficult for her to enjoy the cognitive and social benefits of coloring because of changes in dexterity and strength.
This modular series started by providing worksurfaces, storage and display for coloring book hobbies with a focus on lightweight materials, ease of assembly, and intuitive use with error recovery in mind. With flexible arrangements and multiple uses for each piece, this system can be used from home settings to group homes with the goal of reminding users about their coloring hobby and supplementing their coloring process by making it easier to socialize with others through the interactive nature of using felt structure that doubles as display. The nature of the design allows for users of any age to enjoy this series and grow older with the pieces without stigmatizing the changes in abilities as we age.
