Golf can often be seen as an intimidating sport, especially given the sophisticated and prestigious nature of it. In order to provide a remedy to this existing stereotype, the solution is proposed in Links Golf, providing a retail experience for novice golfers who are wanting to try the sport, but are perhaps discouraged by the present-day connotations. This was achieved by creating a welcoming environment through focus on using organic forms and undulations, inspired by the landscape of the golf course, within the designed elements to enforce user movement through the space. Additionally, emphasis in design was placed on lighting strategies through the layers of ambient, task, and display lighting elements to create a modern model for retail design through light. With a thorough analysis on branding, retail strategies, and lighting design an inviting retail experience is created.
