BioChair_01 is a bioplastic material study that aims to substitute plastic and other traditional materials in furniture for alternative, renewable options. Extensive experimentation was essential to discovering the best recipe for an optimal bioplastic that can be structural and supportive. Composed of spun walnut legs, a 3D printed connector, and a thermoset gelatin polymer seat, this design is imaginative in form and exploratory in manufacturing.
