The name “Kindling” was inspired by the types of wood needed to start a fire. The kindling wood is helped use to start the fire, getting the larger logs of the fire burning. This accurately resembled the heart and purpose of this project, to have a furniture family that kindles relationships and fosters connection. Its circular organization orients users to the center of the space, drawing groups in to use it for collaboration and conversation. The collection is composed of modular benches centered around a shared work surface. The Kindling Collection is reconfigurable for any setting and adapts to the everchanging needs of the workplace.
