Sebnem Demirkan comes to us from Turkey where she has extensive experience in practice and education. She began her own education at Middle East Technical University and completed the Naval Architecture Master Program at Dokuz Eylül University in 2016. She began teaching at the Izmir University of Economics in 2006, educating students in the use of digital design tools and the design studio environment. As a designer, she has worked with companies including Toshiba, Lego, and Volkswagen, in locations all over the world. Her design work has earned her multiple awards: first place in the Bright Idea International Design Competition in 2001, third place in the Design for All Competition in 2009, and others. Her experience in education and design, with her knowledge in digital media and product manufacturing, she will be a strong resource for the students of IAPD
