The Distinguished Service Award is given at the discretion of the Dean with the criteria of being awarded to one who has performed outstanding service to the college.

The Edahl Family Visiting Professorship in APDesign Award recognizes Faculty outstanding Visiting Professors.

Selections for four annual $2500 awards are made at the college levels to recognize excellence in teaching performance in the undergraduate program. These awards were established in 1968 and are now sponsored by the William T. Kemper Foundation through the Commerce Bank.

The Commerce Bank and WT Kemper Foundation Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award is made annually to those faculty who have distinguished themselves nationally and internationally for excellence in research and graduate education. Normally, up to two faculty are selected annually by a group of faculty peers. Recipients receive an honorarium and deliver a public lecture following selection for this award.

The Jarvis Chair of Landscape Architecture is funded through a bequeathed endowment established by Mary K. Jarvis, a 1942 graduate who is thought to be the first female to receive a landscape architecture degree from K-State. The Jarvis Chairs recognize faculty who have made significant contributions in their teaching, scholarship and/or service.

The McElwee Award is given to a faculty member for being an outstanding teacher as designated by the dean of APDesign based upon the recommendation of both students and faculty. This award was established in 1993 in honor of Wayne Hunt McElwee who received his Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from K-State in 1950.
This award recognizes outstanding efforts by faculty by involving the design profession in the education of our students.
