Field Trips
Field trips are an integral part of the interior design program's preparation of design professionals. We visit exemplary buildings, manufacturers, and professional offices in Kansas City and Wichita frequently, and classes also visit local buildings under construction. Each year the third-year students go to Chicago for a few days, which is an opportunity to see the comprehensive resources and professional opportunites afforded by a major urban area with a rich connection to historical and contemporary design practice.
Education Abroad
We encourage studying abroad and participation in our regularly scheduled faculty-led international study tours. These opportunities expand our students’ understanding of the world and how their future in the industry will be impacted by global influences. Studying abroad provides students with opportunities to engage in life-changing experiences. In addition to the many programs offered by the university, the department offers specific programs for interior design. Learn more about the opportunities to study abroad at the K-State Education Abroad website.
