Message from the Department Head

The Heintzelman Kremer Jury was a great success. It was a pleasure to welcome Ian Colburn, Eric Hoffman and Zoka Zola to our school. At the reception afterward it was announced that Travis Shockley in Michael Gibson's studio won the Heintzelman Prize and Javier Sanchez's studio took the Kremer Prize. An Honorable Mention was also given to the el dorado studio. Congratulations to everyone and thank you everyone for all of your work this semester.  I am also pleased to announce that Kelly Pyle won the Burton Award in ADS 4. Kelly is in Michael McGlynn's studio.

I hope to see you all at commencement this Saturday.

Have a great week.

Matthew Knox AIA

Professor and Head

News and Reminders

Please be reminded that commencement rehearsal is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th, at 3:30 pm in McCain Auditorium.

Grades are due on May 20th at 4:00 pm if you are using K-State Online and 5:00 pm if you are using KSIS. If you have questions about grading please contact Rebecca (grstark@ksu.edu).

Students will begin moving out of studio this week and must be moved out no later than Sunday, May 18th. Please encourage your students to pick up after themselves and not to leave anything in studio. They will need to place their trash in trash bins and if they get full to take any extra trash out to the dumpsters. The cleaning crew and the shop will be short staffed this summer, so this is very important so that the office staff is not left to pick up each studio. Students must also reassemble their red boxes if they’ve taken them apart.
