OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

The Landscape Research Record from CELA 2013 has been published online. Click here to view. The publication includes work from the following LARCP faculty:

- Assistant Professors Jessica Canfield and Huston Gibson, Resident Attitudes toward Stapleton’s Stormwater Parks - Assistant Professors Jessica Canfield and Bo Yang, Utah State, Reflections on Developing Landscape Performance Case Studies

Assistant Professor Katie Kingery-Page participated in a radio interview titled "University Engagement". Richard Baker (Communications) interviewed David Proctor (CECD), Kevin Sauer (Hospitality), and Katie Kingery-Page (LARCP) on Service Learning and Engaged Scholarship for his Kansas Public Radio syndicated Perspective Radio Show. The show aired Sunday, Feb 21 and can be heard here.

LARCP is a partner in the K-State Prairie Studies Initiative that brings disciplines in the arts and sciences together to explore cultural and ecological dimensions of the prairie, understand challenges to sustaining grassland ecosystems, and envision the future of these important landscapes. The public kickoff for the initiative is a March 11 screening of a segment of nature photographer Michael Forsberg's "Great Plains: America's Lingering Wild" series, 6-8 p.m. in 101 Bluemont Hall. The screening, themed "Water", will be followed by discussion with Tim Keane, LARCP, and Elizabeth Dodd, university distinguished professor of English, writer and poet. See Katie Kingery-Page or Stephanie Rolley if you would like more information about the Prairie Studies Intiative and read here.

Students in the Associate Professor Lorn Clement's Landscape Architecture Seminar I class participated in a design charrette held by IAPD Assistant Professor Dustin Headley and his Digital Fabrication class, sponsored by Norris Design, Inc. last Thursday, February 27.
