Reminder:Our LARCP Faculty Meeting this Thursday will begin at noon and end at 2 pm. The lunch buffet will begin at 11:50 am.

The APDesign Interdisciplinary Studies and Service Learning Committee has been charged with developing preliminary scenarios, covering a range of interrelated items, to prepare for the disruption during the Seaton Hall expansion as well as how we might increase our activity and impact more generally. Please review the attached document in preparation for discussion at this week's LARCP Faculty Meeting to be led by our department's ISSL committee members, Jason Brody and Katie Kingery-Page.

There will be an APDesign College faculty and staff meeting on Tuesday, April 22 at 12:30 pm in 106c. Please be in attendance for the TPAC vote. 

OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Assistant Professor Alpa Nawre's article "Talaab in India: Multifunctional Landscapes as Laminates" has been published in Landscape Journal 2013; 32(2). Click here to view the article online.

Assistant Professor Katie Kingery-Page will be speaking about the recently installed landscape of native plants outside the Beach Museum of Art at the Earth Day at the Beach event on April 22 from 7-9 pm in the UMB Theater at the Beach Museum of Art.

SPA and SCASLA will assemble and sell rain barrels for the Wildcat Creek Watershed Council during EcoFest, Saturday, April 26.

Mitchel Loring, MRCP 5th year, is featured in an article in the recent KSU Foundation's Good for K-State magazine highlighting the Gross Discovery Scholarship. Click here to read.

PhD candidate Philip Omunga will defend his dissertation on Friday, May 16 at 10 am in 106c.

The Kansas Chapter of the American Planning Association has announced its call for sessions, presentations and planning commissioner training proposals for the 2014 KS-APA Conference to be held Oct 2-3 at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita, KS. Click here for more information.

A trial service beginning immediately and throughout the summer will allow Weigel Library patrons to request to have interlibrary loans delivered to Weigel. Click here for more information.

The APA-KS Chapter is hosting a logo contest for its upcoming Annual Planning Conference scheduled for Oct 2-3 in Wichita, KS. Click here for more information on how to participate.

Last month was the call for projects for federal funding allocations in the MARC area. The committee is now tasked with the exciting job of scoring all the projects and deciding who and what gets awarded. The projects submitted are available to public comment on the MARC website.
