ANNOUNCEMENTS
Charles "Chuck" Marohn will present "Curbside Chat" at 4 pm Monday, Oct. 14, in the K-State Student Union's Little Theater as a part of the Regional & Community Planning Distinguished Lecture series.
Dr. Meghan Wieters will present Sedentary by Practice: How can we integrate physical activity as part of daily routines at work on Wednesday, Oct. 23 in 106c at noon. Wieters is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma and is visiting K-State for her Big 12 Fellowship supporting her work with Dr. Huston Gibson.
OUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Healthy Schools: Environmental Factors, Children's Health and Performance, and Sustainable Building Practices, a $999,860 proposal to the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development National Center for Environmental Research, Science to Achieve Results (STAR) Program, was submitted by Dr. Huston Gibson, Lead Principal Investigator, with Co-principal investigators Dr. Hyung Jin Kim, Dea “Dede” Brokesh, RLA, GRP, ASLA, and R. Todd Gabbard, LEEP-AP.
Associate Professor Blake Belanger will be giving a guest lecture at KU on Oct 17. His presention to Bruce Johnson's Site Planning class will focus on mapping in general and critical mapping specifically.

The 2014 AICP Student Project Awards nomination deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 10. Student projects completed between December 2010-December 2013 are eligible for nomination. Click here for more information.
The Student-Centered Tuition Enhancement Committee will be collecting and reviewing proposals for FY 2015 funding. This money feeds directly from student’s tuition dollars and funds such projects as K-State First, Wildcat Watch and Diversity Programming Council. The committee is looking to expand the project list and is searching for new initiatives that could have a long-term benefit to K-State. Click here for more information.
